Healthcare Interpreter Certification

Auracom International is an avid proponent of providing only the best professional services possible, whatever the language, industry or subject matter. Our language professionals are highly experienced and well-versed in their chosen areas of concentration, ensuring the services we tailor to our clients' needs are accurate, extensively researched and of the highest quality. In the area of healthcare interpreting, providing services that meet our stringent standards requires a very unique skill set, where training and continued improvement are key.

Auracom has always felt the industry would be best served with an independent healthcare certification program for interpreters. As a founding member of the Association of Language Companies (ALC) and a corporate member of the American Translators Association (ATA) among others, Auracom has backed and supported the independent certification approach as the most effective way to serve the needs of patients and healthcare providers alike.

We are extremely pleased to see the efforts of Auracom and many other healthcare and language industry leaders take a significant step forward with the launch of the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI).

Auracom Supports CCHI

CCHI is the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters *

Now is the time and CCHI is the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters. CCHI is the only certification body created by interpreters, for interpreters and the public good, and will involve thousands of interpreters and users of interpreter services in defining their future and the credentials by which they will be known and respected.

CCHI brings together the necessary stakeholders through a non-profit organization whose main mission is to develop and administer a national, valid, credible, vendor-neutral certification program for healthcare interpreters.

CCHI takes a vendor-neutral approach to its certification program development. That means CCHI researches and builds certification programs based on data from the field regarding the knowledge, skills, performance and employers’ expectations, rather than looking at a training program or specific vendor’s service package.
